Volunteers are desperately needed to assist in maintaining the general welfare (feeding and cleaning) of the animal’s quarters at the various adoption locations. Volunteers are trained on how to keep animals’ cages clean and sanitized to promote a healthy environment.
The Adoption Counselors and Cat Cuddlers spend time at our adoption events, greeting potential adopters and answer questions regarding the adoption process. They also take animals out of their cages to visit with potential adopters, answer questions about the animals, and try to find the best pet match. They give attention and affection to the cats and kittens during their stay at the adoption venues, making them more comfortable on the adoption floor.
Volunteers are needed for our small and large scale spay/neuter clinics. You can easily be trained how to put together surgical packs, or clean instruments for the volunteering Vets. Learn and perform Veterinarian assist positions, recording, tracking, and monitoring of animals, and other needed tasks. Spay/neuter clinics are the heart of Camp Companion. If you are able to share your time, it’s educational and rewarding.
Be part of the heart of one of our missions. To prevent homeless animals through Trap-Neuter-Return. Volunteers are needed to learn and help with feral cat trapping. It’s no “fluff” job, but very rewarding to see immediate success of the program.
Volunteers provide housing and care for cats/dogs and kittens/puppies, who are not yet adopted or not ready to be put up for adoption due to being too young, too shy or ill. (An initial supply of pet food and other necessary items are provided by Camp Companion if need exists.) Camp Companion relies solely on foster homes to provide shelter for the cats waiting for their forever home.
Can you do some laundry? Or wash some dishes? Volunteers are needed to launder sheets, towels, etc that are used to keep the animals comfortable while at adoption events. Pet dishes also need a thorough cleaning as well. Pickup and drop-off locations are typically PetSmart North and South.
